We met in Thailand while both working for Partners Relief & Development. I (Adrienne) asked Brad for a ride to the hotel on the back of his motorbike. Trust me (Brad) it left an impression. I (Adrienne) was enthralled with Brad's taste in Mark Knopfler music and his stories of living in the Thai/Myanmar jungle, teaching students to pass the GED.

We kept up throughout the year, discussing life, faith, and all the in-betweens. I (AD) appreciated that Brad saw life through a similar lens as me.

Brad then asked me for a date. At the time, I was living in Michigan and Brad was traipsing all about the Middle East so I told him that I would be open to seeing him if our path's ever crossed. Before I knew it, he had flown to the States and we spent a week or so together. Pictured here: dinner at Jenn's house.

Adrienne just saw me (Brad) as a friend at the time. We continued to stay in touch every once in a while.

Our path's crossed again at the 2022 Partners Relief & Development retreat in Thailand and again, quite clicked, but... life & logistics.

By 2023, I (AD) had moved to Dallas. That year, Brad was passing through the States and he stopped by Dallas for a few days to say hi. I (Brad) knew what I'd found and figured I'd best make that known, so I told Adrienne she was the one (I don't have a problem saying what I think). After she had freaked out at that for a bit, we decided the only option was spending more time together to see what might happen. Before we knew it, we had come up with the obvious decision to both go to Beirut for 1 month in the summer. We could work remotely, Brad could show me around one of his favorite cities, and we’d spend lovely time together! It was the perfect idea. Until I (Ad) chickened out and called off the trip a month later. I told Brad that we should just be friends. I had transitioned out of my role at Partners Relief & Development and figured I’d never see him again.

1+ years go by

In prayer one spring day of 2024, God told me (Adrienne) to "Go." Go where? Why? When? I didn't know... but my gut felt like it had to do with Partners Relief & Development... and my even STRANGER gut feeling thought about Brad for the first time in over a year. I never thought I'd see him again. I dont travel alone and I sure dont travel alone to foreign countries without knowing why Im going. I journaled the word and moved on with life. But then... I received three prophetic words from 3 different sources; 2 of whom didnt know me from Adam. All of the words were direct encouragement from God to go; to step into the unknown and follow what I believed to be God's voice.

I reached out to Brad and asked when he would be in Thailand. I didn’t hear from him for 2 weeks and figured I never would. I (Brad) meanwhile, was on an Emergency Relief trip with Scott (groomsman) in Myanmar and hadn't had service in days. I finally connected at a little office in the jungle and to my surprise found a text from Adrienne. I (AD) then received a message: “Come, I’ll pick you up from the airport.”

Shortly thereafter, I found myself on a flight to Thailand not knowing for sure why I was going. I landed and saw Brad from afar, sipping on his coffee. “Shoot” I told God, “He’s handsome.”

For the month of August, we then spent every moment together that we could outside of work. When obstacles & logistics felt like they were impossible, God kept saying to “hold on;" to hold onto Him, trust, and let Him lead.

Month after month, we watched God work as He does; navigating all of the impossibilities of 2 people uniting from 2 different worlds but oh so similar cores.

And the rest is history! We can't wait to celebrate our union with you all on November 1st.
